Reliance Industries announces scholarships for students seeking higher education

In a press release issued on Wednesday, Reliance Group stated that for the next ten years, it will provide more than 50,000 scholarships to undergraduates seeking higher education in the country.

These are only valid for students who are in their first year of undergraduate courses and are following any academic stream of their choice with a household income under Rs 15 lakh are eligible to apply. The initiative will also work to promote applications from girls and students with disabilities.

“Shri Dhirubhai Ambani, my father-in-law, had a strong belief in the strength and potential of our young generation. We are happy to announce our commitment to fund 50,000 undergraduate and postgraduate scholarships through the Reliance Foundation Undergraduate and Postgraduate Scholarships over the next ten years in honor of his 90th birthday”, said Nita Ambani, founder-chairperson of the Reliance Foundation.

What do these Scholarships include?

According to the press release, up to 100 students will get postgraduate scholarships worth up to Rs 6 lakh based only on merit. Students interested in studying computer science, mathematics, artificial intelligence, computing, electrical engineering, chemical engineering, mechanical engineering, renewable energy, material science and engineering, and life sciences will select based on merit, the statement said. February 14, 2023, is the deadline for both UG and PG scholarship applications.

Furtherly, the scholarships are going to help students realize their aspirations, become successful professionals and maximize their potential for personal growth, community upliftment, and future socioeconomic advancement in India. The Reliance Foundation Undergraduate Scholarships will give recipients the chance to join a strong alumni network and a supportive network in addition to the scholarship money.

Students who are in their first year of undergraduate education and are following any academic stream of their choosing with a household income under Rs 15 lakh are eligible to apply. These Reliance Foundation scholarships are open to apply for everyone and aim to find and develop tomorrow’s leaders. Scholarships will be given out after a rigorous selection procedure that includes interviews with top academics.
